Everbuild external frame sealant is an acrylic sealant, suitable for internal and external use around window and door frames. The product provides a permanently flexible long lasting seal that adheres to virtually all materials. It contains a powerful anti-fungicide to prevent mould growth, and can be over painted.

Limitations
• Not for use in conjunction with bitumen or asphalt. 
• Not for use externally when rain is imminent (within 6 hours at 20°C, 24 hrs at 10°C.) Note that damp or humid conditions may significantly extend the cure.
• Do not attempt to abrade when cured.
• Do not overpaint until a surface skin has formed (allow 24 hours). Over painting is recommended externally to prologue the working life of the product especially in areas prone to high/low temperature variations. 
• Note: this product is a flexible. Certain poor quality paints (especially certain vinyl matts) have very little movement in the dry film. It is possible for the dry paint film to crack if movement is excessive.
• Do not use externally around Pvcu – Use Silicone 450.

Surface Preparation


All surfaces must be clean and dust free.  
All loose or flaking surface coatings, and old sealant and mastic joints, should be removed before application. 
Highly porous substrates such as new plaster should first be primed diluted 1:4 with water. 
This product can be applied to slightly damp, but not wet surfaces.
 

Installation Instructions for Everbuild External Flame



Tools/Products Required:

Everbuild External Frame Sealant
Caulking Gun.
Silicone Smoother + Water.
Backer Rod.


Step 1 – Cleaning Surfaces: 
Surfaces need to be clean, dry, sound and free from contamination. NOTE: Soap or residue will stop the silicone from adhering.

Step 2 – Preparing Surfaces: 
Where gaps are 6mm or wider, insert a joint of closed cell Polyethylene foam backer rod, approximately 25% over sized, allowing for a seal depth of at least 10mm. If necessary you can mask around the perimeter allowing you to remove any messy silicone after application.

Step 3 – Preparing Caulking Gun: 
Insert External Frame Silicone Sealant cartridge into the skeleton gun. Snip the nozzle at a 45 degree angle using a sharp blade as any ragged edges will reflect in your silicone. Don’t snip the nozzle too large, this will make it very difficultly and messy when applying.

Step 4 – Applying Sealant: 
Pressure the gun trigger so that a smooth constant bead of silicone comes out, adjust your speed of travel to ensure a uniform bead goes down. Remember not to put too much silicone down as it will spread as you smooth it.

Step 6 – Smoothing: 
Wet the silicone smoothers and tool to get the right shape, adjusting any mistakes made when applying the sealant. Now is the time to also remove any masking tape used.

Joint Width:
Where gaps are less than 6mm wide, apply a bead of External Frame Silicone Sealant sealant and tool to form a triangular fillet, achieving a ‘bite’ of at least 6mm onto non-porous surfaces ( PPC, aluminium etc) and 10mm onto porous surfaces (brickwork etc).
Minimum 6mm.
Maximum 25mm.

Joint Depth: 
Depth ratio (within above min/max restrictions) 2:1 butt joints. 1:1 lap joints

Delivery Information - What does your delivery option mean?

All deliveries are subject to stock and availability.

UK Mainland

**Next Day Cut Off – subject to cleared payments and passing of payment security checks by 11am.

Orders processed after 11am using the next day service option cannot be guaranteed.

All UK Mainland orders qualify for FREE delivery* when you spend over £75.00 ex VAT.

Consignments will be delivered using FedEx or direct from the supplier if stock is not readily available within our warehouse.

Please note that orders placed on a Friday after 11AM for next day delivery will be dispatched on the following Monday for delivery on Tuesday.

Orders placed prior to a Bank Holiday will be delivered two days after the Bank Holiday.

Saturday Deliveries

Please note Saturday deliveries do not include orders that are made on Saturdays. Saturday orders should be made prior to Friday before 11am.

Pre 12 delivery services are available, however we ask that you contact us in advance of placing the order for our team to check stock and availability.

Damages

By ordering with Dortech Direct you agree to inspect goods upon delivery. Damaged goods should be rejected. If you notice damage after goods are delivered, you must be report this to us within 48 hours of delivery. Dortech Direct does not accept damage liability for issues reported over 2 working days from the point of delivery.

You can report damage by sending your order details and images of any issues to direct@dortech.co.uk or call 01484 411357 and one of our team will assist you.

Returns

If you need to return a product within 30 days, we are happy to refund the product provided it is returned, as sold, with all the original packaging, tags, labels and accessories.

Prior to returning any goods for any reason, please contact us on 01484 411357 to inform us, of the reason for the return and to obtain a Returns Authorisation Name/Number.

Return goods should be sent to "The Returns Department, Dortech Direct, Unit 3 Fieldhouse Park, Old Fieldhouse Lane, Huddersfield, HD2 1FA" clearly quoting one of the following -  Account Number, Order Number or Return Authorisation Name/Number.

Any goods returned within 30 days as 'unwanted' or 'incorrectly ordered' may be subject to restocking fees.

For the avoidance of doubt all returned items will be inspected prior to any refund or replacement will be issued. Dortech Direct reserves the right to reject returns if the parcel is not in a suitable condition. It is the customer’s responsibility to ensure unwanted returns reach our warehouse in a suitable condition.
