Astro PFP Pipe Closers are designed to maintain the fire resistance of rated walls and floors where continuous plastic pipes penetrate. Suitable for use in gypsum, masonry, and concrete walls, as well as concrete floors, each pipe closer features a Red/Silver coated circular steel shell that splits in two, allowing easy installation around service penetrations via a simple 'slide-lock' system.

The steel shell houses a graphite-based reactive material that activates under heat, sealing the openings left by the melting plastic pipe during a fire.

During testing, pipes can be left uncapped, capped inside the furnace, capped outside the furnace, or capped on both sides, depending on the intended application and installation environment. The configuration chosen influences the fire classification code, such as EI 60 C/U, indicating the pipe was capped inside the furnace and uncapped outside.

Testing and Configuration:

Uncapped: The pipe is left open.
Capped Inside the Furnace: The pipe is sealed on the interior side of the testing furnace.
Capped Outside the Furnace: The pipe is sealed on the exterior side of the testing furnace.
Capped on Both Sides: The pipe is sealed on both the interior and exterior sides.

Fire Classification Codes:

The specific capping configuration chosen during testing is reflected in the fire classification code, which defines the approvals possible for the product. For example:

EI 60 C/U: This classification indicates that the pipe was capped inside the furnace (C) and left uncapped outside the furnace (U).

By ordering with Dortech Direct you agree to inspect goods upon delivery. Damaged goods should be rejected. If you notice damage after the goods are delivered, you must report this to us within 48 hours of delivery. Dortech Direct does not accept damage liability for issues reported over 2 working days from the point of delivery.

Returns

If you wish to initiate a product return within 14 days, we gladly offer a refund as long as the item is returned in its original condition, including all packaging, tags, labels, and accessories. Kindly complete the provided return form and include it in the package you are sending back.
