Pyrostrip is an advanced phosphate-based (MAP) multi-component intumescent system designed to offer robust fire protection across a variety of applications, including fire-resistant glass and timber substrates. This high-performance material ensures a minimum of 30 minutes of fire resistance, making it a crucial component in fire safety solutions.

Key Features:

1. Intumescent Reaction: Under the influence of heat, Pyrostrip's components undergo a chemical reaction, expanding to form a soft char that can grow up to 40 times its original volume. This expansion effectively seals any gaps that may appear during a fire, preventing the spread of flames and smoke.

2. Insulating Properties: In addition to gap sealing, the char formed during the intumescent reaction provides insulating properties, protecting timber and other substrates from high temperatures and fire damage.

3. Proven Fire Resistance: Pyrostrip has been tested and proven to offer fire resistance exceeding 30 minutes, ensuring reliable performance in critical fire scenarios.

4. Aesthetic Options: Available in a variety of finishes including white, red, black, and brown, Pyrostrip can blend seamlessly with different design aesthetics and requirements.

5. Versatile Form Factor: Supplied in sheet form, Pyrostrip can be easily cut to the required size or length, providing flexibility for various applications. It also offers an option for self-adhesive backing, simplifying installation and ensuring a secure fit.

6. Cold Flexibility: Pyrostrip remains completely flexible when cold, allowing for easy handling and installation without compromising its integrity.

7. Standard Thicknesses: The product is available in multiple standard thicknesses to suit different needs:

   • Type 5: 0.6mm
   • Type 15: 1mm
   • Type 36: 2mm

Installation Instructions:

1. Surface Preparation: Ensure that the surface is clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, and other contaminants to achieve optimal adhesion.

2. Cutting to Size: Measure and cut Pyrostrip to the required size or length using appropriate tools. For precise and efficient application, use the self-adhesive backing option if available.

3. Application: Position Pyrostrip on the desired surface, pressing firmly to ensure full contact and a secure bond. Ensure that all gaps and potential fire ingress points are adequately covered.

4. Inspection: After installation, inspect the application to ensure that the Pyrostrip is properly positioned and adheres securely to the substrate.

Safety and Handling:

• Protective Gear: Wear gloves and other appropriate protective equipment during installation to prevent skin contact with the adhesive and material.
• Storage: Store Pyrostrip in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures, to maintain its properties and effectiveness.
• Disposal: Dispose of any waste material in accordance with local regulations and guidelines.

All UK Mainland orders qualify for FREE when you spend £75 ex vat or more*. *Please note certain items do not qualify for free delivery. 

Consignments will be delivered using DPD, Evri, and Shipley, or direct from the supplier if stock is not readily available within our warehouse.

Large heavy items may be subject to pallet charges - you will be notified by our customer care team.

Damages

By ordering with Dortech Direct you agree to inspect goods upon delivery. Damaged goods should be rejected. If you notice damage after the goods are delivered, you must report this to us within 48 hours of delivery. Dortech Direct does not accept damage liability for issues reported over 2 working days from the point of delivery.

Returns

If you wish to initiate a product return within 14 days, we gladly offer a refund as long as the item is returned in its original condition, including all packaging, tags, labels, and accessories. Kindly complete the provided return form and include it in the package you are sending back.

Ensure that you diligently fill out all the necessary fields on the Returns Form.

Returns

Please be aware that orders exceeding £100 excluding VAT are subject to a non-negotiable 40% restocking fee. This charge represents the administrative time and overheads to reprocess the stock.
